If a website wants to be on top result of a search engine, it has to fulfill some requirements of a search engine, let’s say Google. The reason I chose Google is because the rules made by Google are general as Google is the world’s largest search engine.

So to be on the top, search engines have these Search Engine Ranking Factors. Google has 200 Ranking Factors.

So while building your website, you need to take care of these 200 ranking factors. Obviously, I won’t go into all these 200 factors otherwise you all would doze off reading the article. So let’s focus on some important ones only.

All these 200 factors can be roughly classified into 4 categories: content, back link factors, mobile responsive and technical factors. I will in brief tell about all of this in the upcoming articles but right now I will summarize all 4 for you.

Content

Content plays a very important role in search engine optimization. While building content for your website, you should make sure to use apt keywords related to your product. Also try to put as much information as you can related to your product. This is very main reason why most websites have a blog for them.

Back links

Back links are links connecting to different relevant pages. Google checks all the links that you have on your page whether they redirect to other genuine and related websites.

Mobile Responsive

Having mobile responsive websites is a must nowadays with increasing smart phones and new gadgets coming up. If your website is not mobile friendly, google will never let your page be listed on the 1st page of results.

Technical Factors

Technical factors combine of a lot of different factors. To name a few, domain name of the website. First word of the Domain name as keyword. Length of the Domain. Keywords in H1 tag. Keywords in description tag. URL path.
