Facebook is a well-known social media application where people can upload their photos, videos, and share their status with other Facebook users. You can also keep your Facebook friends updated by posting your stories from both Android or iOS devices.

Facebook Messenger allows users to mute individual conversations temporarily, or even indefinitely. When a user mutes a conversation, they won’t be notified when they receive new messages. When you mute a person, you need to select the time manually for which you want to mute a thread. The thread will not be unmuted automatically before the set time.

On receiving a message from someone who’s either on your list or isn’t, you always have the option to stop receiving notifications without letting the other person know. The messages from the thread will silently appear in your Inbox without disturbing you. The muted messages will have a Mute icon on them.

How to mute a single conversation on Messenger:

## Launch the Facebook app on your phone.

## Now choose from your existing Facebook Messenger conversation with the person you want to mute and tap to open it.

## Then tap on the name of that person on the top of the screen.

## Tap on the “Mute” icon listed in the row of icons displayed directly beneath that person’s name and profile picture that looks like a bell.

## The Mute Notifications for this Conversation window is displayed.

## Tap to select the duration of time for which you want to mute notifications for your conversation with this person.

## Finally, tap on “OK” in the window after making your selection.

Note: You can choose from 15 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours, or until you unmute them. Whoever you mute will not be notified, and will have no way to know, you’ve muted
