If you have a question regarding your PF withdrawal, or transfer or updation of details, or complaint against EPF, your employer then you can use EPF grievance website to lodge a complaint. You can use online grievance only if you have UAN as declared by EPFO that no complaint will be entertained/accepted w.e.f. 01.01.2016.

On this platform, you can lodge the complaint and also track the status of the complaint. Timeline for resolution of grievance raised is 30 days.

Who can file EPF Grievance & timeline

  • Here EPF member pensioner or employer can lodge the complaint.
  • One can raise the complaints against one’s employer (company) or concerned EPFO.
  • There is a timeline of 30 days for resolving the issue.
  • One can send the reminders for resolution of the complaint.

The issues for which one can register complaints regarding EPF as follows:

  • Final Settlement or Withdrawal of PF
  • Transfer of PF accumulations (Form – 13).
  • EPS: Scheme Certificate (Form 10C).
  • Settlement of Pension (Form 10D)
  • Issues related to PF balance.
  • Payment of insurance benefit (Form 5 IF)
  • Cheque is returned or misplaced.
  • If any other issue relating to UAN

One can view the status online for the complaints filed. If the complaints are not resolved in the expected time then one can send some reminders for complaint.

If you are still not getting any satisfactory reply then you may contact the EPFO office. You can also file an RTI in case of no satisfactory answer from EPFO in time. This will make you get the status of your EPF within 30 days from the date you file RTI.

How to file a complaint online?

Step 1- You have to visit the EPF Grievance site i.e. https://epfigms.gov.in/homepage.aspx then click on the Register Grievance to register EPF complaints.

Step 2 – In Enter EPF Details you have to fill as follows:

a) In Select Status select one of PF member, EPS Pensioner, Employer or Others (Select ‘Others’ if PF Number is not known to You).

b) Enter 12 digit UAN number.

c) Enter your PF number. PF number is in format Region Code /Office Code  /Establishment code *  /Extension *  / Account Number. If extension is unknown then enter 000(zero zero zero).

d) Your EPFO office and employer details(name and address) will automatically get filled in based on your PF number.

Step 3 – In Enter Personal Details you have to fill as follows:

a) Enter Name of the complainant.

b) Create a password, it required to upload any supporting document for this grievance.

c) Enter Address of Complainant, Pincode, Country and select state.

d) Fill in Phone number as (Country Code + STD Code-without 0 prefix + Telephone No.). This is not compulsory.

e) Fill Mobile number as (Country Code & Mobile Number) and Email Id. Here Either Mobile Number or Email Id is required.

Note: Either Mobile Number or Email Id or Grievance Password is required to upload any supporting document for this grievance.

Step 4 – In Enter Grievance Details you have to fill as follows:

a) Select the Grievance category under which the complaint falls.

b) Enter the Grievance Description (maximum 5000 characters).

c) Select the Grievance Category under which you want to file complain.

d) Enter the Captcha( the pattern in the image) and Click on the submit button.

Once the complaint is filed, the complainant is provided with a unique registration number which details will be sent to your Mobile Number or Email Id which was provided in under Enter Personal Details.

EPF Complaints can be tracked online. An employee can use Registration number to track the status of his/her complaint.

The EPFO verifies the complaint. After that, it is forwarded to the relevant party for resolution. It takes few days(15-30 days) to get the complaints resolved.

The reminders can be sent using the registration number.
