To change one’s bank account attached with the EPFO, the EPFO member needs to log in at the EPFO member portal — Member Home (epfindia.gov.in)

For Provident Fund (PF) withdrawal, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made certain rules for EPFO subscribers. After the introduction of UAN (Universal Account Number), which is a unique 12-digits code like one’s PF account number, one can easily withdraw one’s PF/EPF money online. However, it has been found that sometimes a PF account holder wants credit in a bank account, which is not linked with EPFO. In that case the EPFO member needs to correct or update one’s bank details available with the EPFO and ensure smooth and timely credit.

To change one’s bank account attached with the EPFO, the EPFO member needs to log in at the EPFO member portal — unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ and log in using one’s ID and password. After that, the EPF account holder needs to follow some simple steps that will help him or her change its bank account attached with the EPFO.

Here is the step by step guide for changing bank account number for PF withdrawal:

Step – 1] Visit the EPFO’s member portal https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ then Use your UAN and Password and fill up the Captcha to log in to the portal.

Step – 2] After logging in to the portal, go to the “Manage” option from the top menu bar. Once you have clicked on that, select the “KYC” option from the drop-down menu.

Step – 3] After clicking on the “KYC” option, you will be redirected to a new page which will contain a list with different “Document Type” and Click on respective KYC Document type to filled up with the details of the document.

Step – 4] Clik on Bank and fill in the “Bank Account Number” then again same in “Confirm Bank Account Number”and “IFSC Code” fields, Now click on Verify IFSC then you will get a popup message that IFSC Verified click on OK.

Note: For State Bank of India User Your UAN linked Mobile Number must be same as Aadhar linked mobile number. Once you have updated the details click on the “Save” option.

EPFO

Step – 5] Once you have clicked on save an OTP will be sent to Your AADHAAR linked mobile for submitting Bank KYC. Enter the OTP received in your Aadhar linked mobile number and clicked on submit.

Step – 6] After click on submit your new bank details will show under ‘KYC pending for approval‘; and you can see a message that Bank account number verification is under process. A Notification has been sent to your mobile : XXXXXX4816

Once your employer digitally signed the ‘KYC pending for approval’ will change into ‘Currently Active KYC.’
