EPF payment due date is the date by which PF from the employees’ salary should be deducted. This should be done on or before the 15th of every next month. However, the due date of PF return and the due date of PF payment are both the same, i.e. on or before the 15th of every month. Near the due date the EPF & banking site are always slow as its the rush time and everyone tries to make payment. In he meantime many employers faces “awaiting payment confirmation” issue.
Normally employers face awaiting payment confirmation issues under these conditions:
1 – Initiated payment did not complete & it is showing as awaiting payment confirmation
2 – Initiated payment made, amount debited from bank but still showing as awaiting payment confirmation
So we suggest don’t wait for the due date for payment try to make payment as soon as possible to avoid awaiting payment confirmation. So we will see how to overcome from these situations:
Initiated payment did not complete & it is showing as awaiting payment confirmation
After successfully ECR generated by us we tried to make payment but sometimes we are unable to initiated successful payment and payment status changed to awaiting payment confirmation. We faces this issue due to
a – if we make delay of more than 4 minutes after login in bank portal
b – During Initiate payment if EPF site is under maintenance
c – Internet link failure during Payment
d – If we refresh the page or press the back button of the page in payment page
If you have made payment and payment status is “Awaiting payment confirmation from bank” and amount is not debited from your bank account,. In this case when try to re initiate the payment you can see N/A under the Payment column as the payment button is locked and the payment status showing Awaiting Payment….
Procedure to solve the issue
In such scenario first we have to unlock the PAY Button. To unlock the pay button TRRN will be available in this list after 1 hour of initiation of payment attempt.
Follow the below procedure to unlock:
After login to the Unified employer portal go to ECR/RETURN FILING option under the Payments Tab.
Next page you will show a option that View Locked Challans click on it.
Now you can see the next page where showing that SBI Aggregator Challan List to Unlock and Payment Confirmation Awaiting Challan List.
If you have made payment using SBI Aggregator then it will show under SBI Aggregator Challan List to Unlock. If made payment using available listed banks then it will show under Payment Confirmation Awaiting Challan List.
As we have tried to make payment through listed bank show it is showing under Payment Confirmation Awaiting Challan List as per above image. To unlock the PAY button click on ‘verify’.
Once you click on Verify on next page we will get the message that Transaction Failed. Please try again. Now the PAY button is enabled.
Initiated payment made, amount debited from bank but still showing as awaiting payment confirmation
Basically we tries to make payment near the due date. As near the due date is a rush time as everyone tries to make payment so normally this time EPF servers runs very slow as well as the bank servers also. Initiated payment done and amount debited from the bank but as the EPF server did not receive the data from bank server so the payment status shows awaiting payment confirmation.
Procedure to solve the issue
After login to the Unified employer portal go to ECR/RETURN FILING option under the Payments Tab.
Next page you will show a option that View Locked Challans click on it.
Once you click on View Locked Challans you will be redirected to a next page where you can find Payment Confirmation Awaiting Challan List where in the last you will see a Verify button click on it
Note: As already mentioned that this issue only arise when we try to make the payment in the last hour. You can see in the above image that the payment request date and time is 15-JUL-2021 09:45 so here the amount is debited from account but payment status showing awaiting payment confirmation.
Once you click on Verify on next page you will see Transaction Successful message.
Now you can see you payment status showing Payment Confirmed.
Note: Also you can see the “verify” button after login to the Unified employer portal go to PAYMENT (ECR) option under the Payments Tab. Either you can visit any one option to verify the challan.
