To improve the girl child sex ratio, the State Government of Haryana and Ministry of Women And Child Development has come up with “Aapki Beti Humari Beti” scheme. The main motto behind the launch of this scheme is to encourage and promote the health and education of every girl child born in Haryana. The second major motive is to ensure the survival of girl infants which will ultimately help in improving the sex ratio.

Benefits:

a) Every first born girl born on or after 22 January 2015 in a scheduled caste family will get Rs 21,000 from the state government.


b) Those who belong to below poverty line, the state government will provide Rs 21,000 to their first born girl child no matter their caste or religion but should have been born on or after January 22nd 2015.


c) Every second born girl child or twin girls born on or after 21 January 2015 in a scheduled caste family will get Rs 5000 yearly for a five-year span from the state government.


d) Those who belongs to below poverty line of any caste or religion, the state government will provide Rs 5000 yearly for a five-year span to their second born girl child born on or after 21 January 2015.


e) The state government will provide Rs 2500 per child for a five-year span to the families where twins or multiple girls are born on or after 21 January 2015.

Eligibility criteria for applying to this scheme:

a) It is not applicable for those girls who are married at an early age (before 18 years old). The amount can be withdrawn after the completion of 18 years.


b) The scheme is valid even after a girl dies after completing 18 years of age. The amount can be delivered to the parents.

c) The Haryana State Government employees who live in Chandigarh and Delhi are eligible for this scheme.

d) First girl child born on or after January 22, 2015 in a scheduled caste family are eligible for the scheme.

e) First girl child born of any caste and religion on or after January 22, 2015 to BPL family are eligible.

f) Second girl child born on or after January 21, 2015 in a scheduled caste family are eligible for the scheme.

g) Second girl child born of any caste and religion on or after January 21, 2015 to BPL family are eligible.

h) All the birth details of the girl must be registered at the Anganwadi Center.
